Expecting families are still asked to visit www.babyboxuniversity.com to watch a short presentation, after which they are asked to call Island Chiropractic & Family Wellness to register for a pick-up date (902-270-7022).  

The boxes will be distributed on the third Thursday of the month directly from the office inside the grand lake road firehall.  “We believe it takes a village to raise a child, so when families come to collect their box, they will have an opportunity to meet with people from support programs in the surrounding area”.  

The program has expanded to include program information from the family resource centre, information from the public health nurses, and a representative from the local breast feeding support group to name a few.  “Our goal was to provide information on community support groups before moms and dads become overwhelmed with the responsibility (and exhaustion) of parenthood” says Maher.
